Let’s talk about what forgiveness is, why it’s important,
and how to do it.
What Is Forgiveness?
Forgiveness is letting go of all the judgments, emotions,
and limiting beliefs around a memory, situation, or person (called “situation”
for the rest of this article). It has nothing to do with who was “right” or “wrong”,
what you or someone else did or didn’t do, what is morally or legally “right”,
or what you or someone else believes. It’s simply letting everything go so there
is no emotional charge.
Why Forgiveness Is Important
Until we forgive, we will keep repeating the energetic equivalent
of the situation in our lives. We must forgive to heal, be free of that
energetic pattern, and move forward to create what we want in our lives. To be
truly happy inside and really feel it in our bodies, we have to forgive
everything. Our ego may try to tell us that we need an agenda to protect
ourselves and feel safe. In reality, we are the only power in our lives, so we’re
really forgiving ourselves. There is no one to hold an agenda against.
How to Forgive
1. Focus on the situation you want to forgive.
2. Let all the memories, emotions, beliefs, and sensory information
associated with the situation come up without judging them. You must feel them to heal.
3. Let go of all the memories, emotions, beliefs, and sensory information
associated with the situation. Sometimes just letting them come up non-judgmentally (previous step) is enough. If you feel you need more, find a safe way to get them out of your energy fields
and body – journaling, painting, drawing, singing, taking a walk – whatever works
4. Focus on the situation again. How do you feel? What thoughts
come up in your mind? Is there anything more to release? If so, repeat these steps
until the situation is emotionally neutral, like grocery shopping or showering.
If the situation happened in your adult life, its roots are most likely in
childhood or a past life. You’ll need to forgive those to be free.
Let’s work together privately. I can dig deep into
your energy field to help you identify the root of the situation and detach
your mind from it.
